A little birdie told me...................

Hello Magnolia Lovers,

Almost the weekend, hope you've had a great week and found time to fit in some stamping. I made this for a little boy going into to hospital and was under strict instructions to make it bright and cheery without looking girly. Well the bright & cheery was easy but I always struggle wanting to add flowers, bows and sparkle, it always seems to be missing something without them. You may recognise the little frog, he hops from card to card. How cute is that little bird. I chose Edwin with cap as he looks just like our ginger haired little Jake.

Arghh Pirates in B & W

Happy Sunday Stampers,

A new Challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenge - Olden Days
We were asked to colour our images in black, white and greys, but still have the option of coloured paper and cardstock.

This was a bit of challenge for me this week, stepping out of my comfort zone, I guess that's what challenges are all about, I persevered, because I've seen some amazing cards using this technique and I hope to master it one day, practice practice practice. Maybe I will give it a go with the softer distress inks.

I got the idea of the Pirate Banner on the top of my card liner from fellow Magnolia DT Kim Piggott, Kim used a Magnolia Stamp (I need more accessory stamps) but had to compromise and cut this out with my Cricut, then hand cut the skull and crossbones from the Magnolia paper, it would have been easier to cut them directly from the paper on the cricut but they all faced different directions. Kim's card is so soft and breathtakingly beautiful.
Kellie from Tickled Pink Stamps sent me these adorable new Pirates to play with from Magnolia's soon to be released Fairytale Collection. I coloured them up with Copic markers - C00. C0, C1, C2, C4, C7 , C9. Tilda & Edwin were cut out and raised for dimension. I distressed the edges of my cardstock, inked them up and added some Star Dust stickles.

Magnolia Stamps Pirate Tilda, Pirate Edwin - The Fairytale Collection available soon.
Magnolia's So Spooky Halloween Papers - perfect for the new Pirate Collection.
Charms - Skull & Cross Bone, Red lace, Red Gardenia - all from Tickled Pink Stamps

Fairytale Tilda

Hello Magnolia Lovers and Happy Sunday to you,

It's time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge
# 39 - Stitching - it can be real machine stitching, hand stitching or faux. I love to incorporate a little stitching, I think it gives that homemade with love look.

I followed this sketch by fellow DT, the fabulously talented Jane, Jane is also a DT for Just Magnolia and she designed this sketch for their challenge this week, of course I had to play along, I love it, thanks Jane and can see myself using it a lot.

I have used one of the soon to be released Magnolia stamps from the Fairytale Collection, this sweet image is none other than Fairytale Tilda, isn't she just gorgeous, I have coloured her with copics, lots of star dust stickles, airbrushed the background with some yellow to give her a bit of a glow. Doily from Magnolia Down Under DT Kit, I have added some zig zag machine stitching around my card, I dusted off my poor neglected Cricut Die Cutting Machine to make this Doily shaped card, I used the Wild Card cartridge, and selected the blackout feature. Text stamp is by Kaisercraft. Tilda has been cut out and popped up with dimensionals. You can see better in this side view.

Keep your eyes out in April for the release of the Fairy Tale Collection with gorgeous papers, cute Pirates, Little Princesses here
Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend.

Older Style Princess Tilda and the Frog Prince

Happy Saturday Stampers,

Oops, I found this card a few weeks ago, I made it way back in January, then forgot to show you. I know it's way past Valentine's Day, but it would work for an Engagement, Anniversary etc. and it fits in with the new Fairies & Princesses coming soon, I thought why not. Kellie from Magnolia Down Under got me hooked on some of Magnolia's older style stamps, I would love to give them a try with Distress Inks next time.

Magnolia Stamps - Tilda (Princess Noni from Summer 2006 Sun & Rain Collection). Tilda & Edwin - (SP06 Vi TvÄ from Winter Spring 2006 Collection) & Be My Valentine text (Valentine 2009 Collection). I used the January sketch from Mojo Monday, coloured the images with Copic Markers, used my favourite Martha Stewart border punch and lots of Star Dust stickes. Papers and crystals from Kaisercraft and cut the card with my Cricut using my favourite Doily Card from Wildcard cartridge and finished it with a little machine stitching. Tilda inside the card is paper pieced to match the sentiment side of the card. A fun card with not much colouring. Inside text is computer generated.

I am working on some cards for the next Magnolia Ink Magazine, so won't have anything new for you for a few days. Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful weekend
