Fairytale Tilda

Hello Magnolia Lovers and Happy Sunday to you,

It's time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge
# 39 - Stitching - it can be real machine stitching, hand stitching or faux. I love to incorporate a little stitching, I think it gives that homemade with love look.

I followed this sketch by fellow DT, the fabulously talented Jane, Jane is also a DT for Just Magnolia and she designed this sketch for their challenge this week, of course I had to play along, I love it, thanks Jane and can see myself using it a lot.

I have used one of the soon to be released Magnolia stamps from the Fairytale Collection, this sweet image is none other than Fairytale Tilda, isn't she just gorgeous, I have coloured her with copics, lots of star dust stickles, airbrushed the background with some yellow to give her a bit of a glow. Doily from Magnolia Down Under DT Kit, I have added some zig zag machine stitching around my card, I dusted off my poor neglected Cricut Die Cutting Machine to make this Doily shaped card, I used the Wild Card cartridge, and selected the blackout feature. Text stamp is by Kaisercraft. Tilda has been cut out and popped up with dimensionals. You can see better in this side view.

Keep your eyes out in April for the release of the Fairy Tale Collection with gorgeous papers, cute Pirates, Little Princesses here
Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend.

Older Style Princess Tilda and the Frog Prince

Happy Saturday Stampers,

Oops, I found this card a few weeks ago, I made it way back in January, then forgot to show you. I know it's way past Valentine's Day, but it would work for an Engagement, Anniversary etc. and it fits in with the new Fairies & Princesses coming soon, I thought why not. Kellie from Magnolia Down Under got me hooked on some of Magnolia's older style stamps, I would love to give them a try with Distress Inks next time.

Magnolia Stamps - Tilda (Princess Noni from Summer 2006 Sun & Rain Collection). Tilda & Edwin - (SP06 Vi TvÄ from Winter Spring 2006 Collection) & Be My Valentine text (Valentine 2009 Collection). I used the January sketch from Mojo Monday, coloured the images with Copic Markers, used my favourite Martha Stewart border punch and lots of Star Dust stickes. Papers and crystals from Kaisercraft and cut the card with my Cricut using my favourite Doily Card from Wildcard cartridge and finished it with a little machine stitching. Tilda inside the card is paper pieced to match the sentiment side of the card. A fun card with not much colouring. Inside text is computer generated.

I am working on some cards for the next Magnolia Ink Magazine, so won't have anything new for you for a few days. Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful weekend

Happy Easter from Tilda with flowing hair

Hello Lovelies,

Thank you so much for all your wonderful emails, thoughts & prayers. Mum will be out of hospital soon thank goodness, but still a long way to go. I was able to take a couple of my stamps to the hospital to colour and found it very theraputic.

All stamps and paper by Magnolia - this is Tilda with Flowing Hair & Open Gate both from new Hoppy Easter Collection, what I love the most about these gorgeous stamps, they can be used for so many other occasions, not just Easter. Text stamp is from their Easter Collection 2009.

Tilda has been cut out and raised with pop dots for dimension, coloured with Copics, the gate is covered with crackle paint, lots of Star Dust stickles, machine stitching, flowers, lace, ribbon and butterfly from own supplies.

Thanks for visiting and again thank you for your good wishes, I hope to get around to visit all your amazing creations soon.

Happy 1st Birthday Magnolia Down Under

I wanted to make something bright & cheery for Magnolia Down Under Challenges 1st Birthday and decided to use the gorgeous papers from Basic Grey's June Bug. I attempted a Gate Fold Card, I was inspired by Kellie and Debbie's wonderful Gate Fold creations, but I didn't look at any instructions (silly me) it didn't turn out quite the same, but I have since found some fail safe instructions Kellie posted on her blog by Leann very clear, easy to follow and guarantee a laugh or two, thanks Leann.

Getting back to my card, I used Magnolia Tilda with Balloons from Spring Summer 2008 collection for the front of the card and for the inside Happy Tilda from the new Raising the Ceiling Collection (I love her to bits) sentiment stamps are by Hero Arts. The text "Surprise" inside card was cut with my Cricut Expressions Die Cutting Machine on yellow cs and glittered up with star dust stickles, Balloons smothered in Rock Candy Stickles, Flowers, Silk Ribbon and gems from stash.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Edwin's Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Wednesday Stampers,

This is my 2nd DT card for Magnolia. I must admit I am a tad nervous being such a newbie on the team and I don't make a lot of boy cards, but anyways, as all you Magnolia Lovers know, Magnolia is about to release some fabulous new Easter Stamps - the Hoppy Easter Collection - this is Edwin with Egg Basket & Rooster from the new collection.

These like so many of Magnolia stamps can be used for other occasions not just Easter. I have also used the sentiment stamp called Squiggly Happy Easter from Magnolia's Easter 2009 Collection. I hope you like what I came up with.

I coloured Edwin, his basket and the roosters tail feathers a couple of times to give them a little dimension, I also added a few real feathers. I couldn't help myself with some flowers. I have coloured with Copics, inked the edges with Distress Ink (pine needles) all papers, stamps, feathers, & ribbon from DT Kit supplied by Magnolia. I glossed up the Rooster's Feet and wobbly red bits with some Diamond Glaze. (sorry but not sure what they are called lol) Added a few gems & pearls with a some stickles to look like Easter Eggs on the ground, Edwin is on an Easter Egg Hunt after all.
